Kissing you was a culture shock

When I was younger
I was fascinated by space
and I learned that
inside a black hole
time stops completely.
Whether or not this theory
will ever be proved,
I'm moved to believe
that this would be
the perfect place
to love someone
or the worst place
to lose them.
I'm still learning
the difference between
losing and being lost.
I guess I was hurt
for so long that
I've forgotten how to love.
I got so used to the darkness
that I was blinded by the sun.
I'm still learning
the difference between
falling in love and going mad.
I don't think we ever move on
from the person we love.
We simply get used
to them not being
around anymore.
I wanted a perfect ending.
Now I've learned,
the hard way,
that some poems don't rhyme,
and some stories
don't have a clear
beginning,
middle
or end.
